Formation

Verb (plain present/negative) + ように / Verb potential form + ようになる

Usage

Expresses a purpose that involves a desired state or change. Also used with potential verbs to indicate becoming able to do something (ようになる).

Example sentences

よく聞こえるように、前に座りました。

I sat at the front so I could hear well.

漢字が書けるようになりました。

I've become able to write kanji.

遅れないように、早く出かけましょう。
