Indicates degree or extent, often used in comparisons. More objective than くらい.
Usage Rules
- •AほどB: B to the extent of A
- •ほど〜ない: not as〜as (negative comparison)
- •〜ば〜ほど: the more〜the more
- •ほど: maximum degree (as much as)
- •ほどだ: to the extent that
- •More objective than くらい
Example Sentences
しぬほどつかれた。
Tired to the point of dying.

Common Mistake
Using ほど for approximate quantities (use くらい/ぐらい for approximations, ほど for degree).
