Usage Rules

  • Even if: Vても = even if (hypothetical)
  • Even though: Vても = even though (actual)
  • 〜でも = with nouns/な-adj (even if it is)
  • 〜くても = with い-adj
  • 〜てもいい = may do (permission)
  • 〜てもかまわない = it doesn't matter if

Common Mistake

Using ても with だ (do not say 先生だでも — use 先生でも instead).
