Verb て-form + いく

Usage

A multi-purpose pattern: (1) an action away from the speaker, (2) a change continuing into the future, (3) doing something while going.

Example sentences

これからも勉強を続けていきます。

I will continue studying from now on.

日本語が上手になっていくでしょう。

You'll get better at Japanese as time goes on.

本を持っていきます。

I'll take a book with me.

子供はどんどん成長していく。

Children keep growing and developing.

人口が減っていっています。
