Verb て-form + くる
Usage
A multi-purpose pattern: (1) an action in the direction toward the speaker, (2) a change that has developed up to the present, (3) going somewhere and coming back.
Example sentences
ずっと日本語を勉強してきました。
I've been studying Japanese up to now.
太ってきました。
I've gained weight.
ちょっとトイレに行ってきます。
I'll go to the bathroom and come back.
だんだん寒くなってきました。
It's gradually getting colder.
友達が家に遊びに来た。
My friend came to my house to hang out.
