Formation

Verb ない-form (drop ない) + せる (る-verbs) / あ-stem + せる (う-verbs). Group 2: ます-stem + させる

Usage

Expresses that someone causes or allows someone else to do something. In the 〜てください pattern, it softens requests.

Example sentences

先生は学生に宿題をさせます。

The teacher makes the students do homework.

母は私に部屋を掃除させた。

My mother made me clean my room.

ちょっと考えさせてください。

Please let me think a bit.

子供に野菜を食べさせる。

I make my child eat vegetables.
