Formation

A より B のほうが + adjective (B is more adjective than A)

Usage

Used to compare two things. The item before より is the reference, and the item before のほうが is the one being emphasized.

Example sentences

猫より犬のほうが好きです。

I like dogs more than cats.

電車よりバスのほうが速いです。

The bus is faster than the train.

日本語より英語のほうが簡単です。

English is easier than Japanese.
